Alternator

Hi everyone 
I have a Hudson commador 1951 
can anyone send me a pick of where the wires go from the alternator please .Thinking one to battery and one to little box in engine bay ? As the chap I got her from half started the re wire in the engine bay and didn’t finish . 
Thanks in advance . Took her out today she drives spot on totally original ?

    I assume you are referring to the generator not alternator.
    (unless someone else installed an alternator)

    Note-this is for positive ground 6volt system

    This is located in the service manual. page 6-16

    I forgot to add, there is a process in the manual that explains "polarizing the generator". If the system isn't charging your battery then you may want to try polarizing it.
    **Its very simple to do.

  • From the 1951 Service Manual:

    The Hudson electrical system is positive grounded and whenever a generator is installed or re-installed on the engine it should be polarized with the battery to prevent burning of regulator contact points and damage to the units.

    To polarize the generator, ground the field terminal to the frame and touch the armature lead briefly to negative terminal of the battery.
