Would like to find a visor for a 1949 "600" -metal original if possible ? Any suggestions ?

You could try Big Jim's, they manufacture period-authentic fender skirts and exterior sunvisors. http://www.bigjims.net/ If you haven't tried the Nash Club, they might have some leads there.

Jon, I am amazed at how little we get in replies here compared to the Hudson post ? Sort of afraid of Big Jims fiber units from what I hear - sure one will pop up soon. Thanks for the post on my 49 OD I really have not picked the car up yet its in a dealer showroom-says he gets more traffic than the 06 Chevvies
