chassis and inner fender repair

This is a 1933 Terraplane chassis repair.  Someone cut it up with a torch to make clearance for a different motor.  When I do something like this I like to drill weld through holes to recreate the spot welds, especially on heavy material like this.  The inner fender also needed some patch work.

It would be neat to have a tent set up at a national meet, making a repair like this to show the process! A lot of work for the teacher, but something I bet would be a hit!
