Thanks to Eric (Grim Greaser) for the 3D model and Kerry Dancy for testing for fit the new manifold is in some redesign.  The major issue is some clearance issues with a stock exhaust manifold, for headers there is no fit problem.  There are some other redesign issues internally that need to be done as well, but the overall design is about 90% complete.

Some additional notes:

Although the manifold is designed to fit Weber DG series carbs, one can, by using Transdapt carb adapters, use single and other two-barrel carb (Rochester, Carter, etc.).  Here is an example from Summit for one barrels (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/trd-2025?seid=srese2&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Brands+|+T&utm_term=4581458796284906&utm_content=GSAPI+5ba2a448130a5).  So if you want to stick with the original Twin H concept (2x1) you can do it with this manifold and save some significant weight in the process.  The centerlines of the carb pedestals are the same as the original Hudson manifold so the linkage should work as well.  HOWEVER, you will need to do some modifications to accommodate the height of the adapter.  I plan to do some redesign to the pedestals to let one mill down probably about 1 - 11/2" if desired but this still may raise the WA-1s about a 1/2" from stock since the Webers are actually shorter than the Carters.

Air Cleaners:  I do not see an easy way to use the stock Hudson Twin H air cleaners with this setup.  One could do a major cut and refit but it would be a lot of work.  The stock or most common air cleaners are the rectangular stamped steel Weber design, which personally I find looks pretty chintzy when you think about the cost of the carbs.  However, there are a number of alternatives available.  The best one is to use a Weber to 5 1/8" four barrel air cleaner adapter (https://www.amazon.com/WEBER-DGV-FILTER-ADAPTER-CLEANER/dp/B01N6SUF97) that will let you use any of many 4bbl air cleaners.  The ones I find really cool are from Vintage Speed that are finned aluminum (matches well with the new head!) (https://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000106a~Z5Z5Z5AABAN~P89.00~~~~S6EN0I2PMG76114256251d~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000106a and https://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000106a~Z5Z5Z599511~P89.00~~~~S6EN0I2PMG76114256251d~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000106a).  There are also these that might work with some sort of Twin H cleaner? ( https://www.amazon.com/FILTER-WEBER-DGAV-CARBURETORS-99217-090/dp/B00SXFA7NY ) and these - https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic17a03/11-3017.  There are many possibilities.

Linkage: this is probably the biggest job now is figuring out how to mate up the Hudson throttle linkage to the Webers.  The standard Weber available dual carb rods are too short as the Hudson distance is about 12"!  So I will need to probably hand make the linkage setup.  As I noted in a previous post, hooking up to a std Twin H looks to be doable, but the std 2bbl linkage will take a bit more thinking.  I want to make sure that one can return the car to stock if so desired, so doing any major surgery is to be avoided if possible.

The other linkage issue is that the Spanish-made Webers come with a cable-ready throttle arm, while, oddly enough, the Chinese knockoffs come with the solid linkage flange needed for the 2x2 rod!  One can buy the sold flange from various suppliers but they are stupid expensive for a stamped piece of steel.

Still plan to try and get the project launched by the end of the year if possible.  So far I have 25 reservations and can use a few more to get to at least 30 to make this affordable.  With the revised lower price of the head I am hoping we can get the manifold under $1,000.

I still am looking for more head reservations if you are interested, but it is a GO!
