Lowering blocks

Like to lower my 48 in the year using blocks. Looking at 1 1/2 - 2” blocks. Has anyone done this with success? Any issues I should be aware of?

    I have used the die cast pieces available everywhere on a couple of Hudsons. In time, they cracked and broke. Now I make them myself, when I need a set. Make your own out of solid steel or aluminum.
