Voltage regulator

This may have been discussed before but is it normal for the voltage regulator to vibrate at low rpm's? Generator checks out ok, and the vibration goes away (or just can't hear it) at higher rpm's. A electrical engineer friend said they are designed this way, though my other Hudson's don't do this.  Anything to worry about, or should I just leave it alone? Any help much appreciated.
Gene.

A side note, maybe it's not the correct regulator for the car. Anyone know what is the correct one for a 49 Commodore 8 is?

The correct voltage regulator for your 1949 Commodore is an AutoLite VRR  4001A   with 4 terminals.

Thanks for the offer, what are you asking for it?
