WTB 1949 super six engine parts

I’m looking for:

- water pump
- Carter WDO 2bbl
- rebuild kit for Carter
- vacuum advance
- spring weights for mech advance
or a good play free distributor with good advances

Cheers, Wilfred

  • Try Dale Cooper. Hudson Motor Car Company he has a web site.
  • Try Daytona Auto parts for rebuild kit or getting carburetor rebuilt.  https://daytonaparts.com/

Dale Cooper has a good water pump.

Lance Walker might have a distributor.

    Thanks for the answers!

Ken, this looks different from my WDO. Is it bigger? I have the 262cui six and it now has a holley 2300 single pump 2bbl that’s rated for 350cfm and always smells of unburnt fuel. I believe it’s way too big for this engine. Where does the 776s come from?

Cool, great idea! So it’s a bolt-on on the stock manifold? I’m gonna broaden my search then :)

I’ve contacted Dale yesterday, waiting for a quote.

In the mean time, does anyone know if there is an interchangeable part for the vacuum advance? I can’t find any vacuum advance for the ‘49…

On wrphet I could not find one for the ‘49 Six, that’s why I’m not sure which one I can use. Also I’m not sure if I need to send the core first? I live overseas so that’s brohibitively expensive :(

Rhodora, are you aware of the Svenska Hudsonklubben?  http://www.hudsonsweden.se/

I wonder if they are aware of vendors of Hudson parts in Europe?  It's a long shot, but you might try them.

Hi Ken, I don’t know if you’ve seen my PM but I’m interested in the ignition and carb. Can you contact me? Thanks :)

Hi Ken, thanks for your reply! Is the forum translating or are you actually typing Dutch? :D

    Looks good!

The WDO I have has the same butterfly Axle connector. I do not have the original rod though (the one that is positioned over the engine) because that one has been butchered to make the holley work. So I’d need that rod too…
