Looking for a fuel tank -'54 Hornet

Looking for a replacement for my rusted-out fuel tank in my '54 Hornet project.  It was stored with a half tank of nasty fuel since '68 and is rusted out along the top of both ends.  Any sources?

  • You could contact these folks and see if they make a '54 fuel tank:

It seems high priced to me, but if there are no alternatives . . .

I have two '54 tanks back home. Will be home in about a week. The tank would have to be shipped freight due to the size with the filler neck.  Fastenal Logistics is a reasonably priced option provided you have a Fastenal location near you.

What are you asking for one?  Good shape?  The nearest Fastenal is in Springfield, MO, about 25 miles, so not too bad.  What would you estimate shipping?
