Conrod bolts and nuts

I bought a set of grade  8 bolts for my 1924 conrods and also a set for my 1937 Terra - $18 total. Thought this was cheap compared to Ebay prices. I will have to turn off some of the hex heads in a lathe and grind a flat on the heads. Im curious what nuts people use. High tensile nuts with loctite, castellated nuts with split pins, nuts with pal nuts, any other options? Conelock nuts would make it difficult to guestimate the torque, and nylon lock nuts may be affected by heat. A friend had an original conrod bolt break so I thought I would try to avoid this. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Barry
