49 Commodore 4-door window shades

I like the look of the chrome (or maybe shiny stainless) window shades on the stepdowns.  Problem is I don't want to drill invasive holes in my original car.  Can someone explain to me how they are mounted?

    You have to drill invasive holes in your original car.

    I knew someone who slipped the little lip under the factory stainless trim around the windows and used some clear silicone or epoxy glue to hold them on. It was like that for years.
