Step down OD issue

Having an issue with the OD unit in my 52 Hornet. It started making some unhealthy noises and there is no drive connection in OD or std drive.
Before I pull the unit is there an OD guru in the club? 
Tried calling Allen Saffrahn but no answer

    Doesn't sound good.  Most likely the drive pinion assembly, but  you will only find out when you dismantle.   If the oil is black it indicates failure.   You will need the Workshop manual.  The most vulnerable parts are the roller bearings and pins that the pinions revolve on, and this is not a repairable unit, you will have to replace the whole assembly.   You need to specify Warner R10 when obtaining parts.
