Well this or a '54 Stepdown Convertible? Hmmm

Comments

  • The 54 will be much easier to find parts for I suspect but if you have the money to spend on the Tucker, I am guessing you won't have issue having parts made.
  • That thing keeps popping up every couple years. Its pedigree is regularly questioned. Here's an article from the last time it showed up. https://www.motorauthority.com/news/1133803_controversial-1948-tucker-convertible-for-sale-again

I certainly don't have the money and if I did I don't think a Tucker is my choice.  I just thought it was unusual for Tucker of any kind to show up on ebay.  I would have expected it to be on BAT?  Superwasp - thanks for the link.  I was suspicious about the car as I had never ever heard of a convertible.  I guess it is possible and if all the others are accounted for, the spare parts could have been used, but you would have thought there would have been a lot of noteriety of such a vehicle over the years?

Darn, it says it is no longer available..and my SS check just arrived too
  • I think the questionable history is why it keeps appearing on eBay instead of BAT. I agree. It's much more of a BAT type of auction vehicle.

They built some fiberglass bodied ones on a modern chassis for the movie.
  • Yeah, one of those ended up on BAT a while back.

They sat on a 74 LTD frame. They were real Frankensteins. Not much more than a prop... A pricey prop.
