Looking for soft shocks

Hi everyone.  Looking for some soft shocks for both the front and rear for our '54 Hornet.  The ones on the car now are very firm with a harsh ride and it's not a pleasant ride.  Recommendations are appreciated, thanks.

  • Hi Tim,

You might want to try an adjustable pneumatic shock. These are the one that are adjusted by using machine air out of a compressor.  That might give you the ride you're looking for but definitely search the forums for the experiences of others.

    Good luck!

Tim, I'm curious:  are your present shocks hydraulic, or gas?

Hello again.  I do appreciate all your fine comments.  Our car has the Monroe 5751 shocks on the front and the Monroe 31094 shocks on the rear.  I've heard that the 5751 is a good Hudson shock but I'd like to try something else.  In my view, the 5751 is very firm so I'll investigate your suggestions.
