1946 6 CYL Water Jacket Cover

Hi Everyone,

The inner manifold part (with the 4 holes in it) of the water jacket cover of my 46 6 CYL is quite rotted out.  The cover part is in pretty good shape.  It looks like I can just make a new manifold and replace the rotted one.  Does the manifold just sit in the cover, or is it welded in place?

    The inner baffle is spot welded and brazed or soldered.  Some have made the inner baffle out of stainless and made it the same size as the outer housing using a second gasket.  Make sure the inner baffle water distribution holes match the original configuration and size.
