fuel pump

in "How To" - Skills, mechanical and other wise
HELP, I used 2 fuel pumps neither one will suck up gas,I do not think they are bad 1 was rebuilt 2 years ago, any answers???

    Tell us more - year and motor - is a spacer on the fuel pump required and in place ?

    Make sure the pick up tube in the tank isn’t clogged with rust trash or tank sealer

    I should have said, I'm using a gas can.

    What kind of Hudson? Year and engine, stuff like that

    1948 super six  262cid  engine is out of car, if I put gas in the carburetor, it starts for a few seconds

    Put a vac gauge on the inlet and crank it over. There is a spec for the vacuum it should draw.
