308 Oil Filter Question

Hello Everyone. I'm going to be having some questions, and here's the first. Just hauled home a really nice intact 53 engine for our Hornet project. Came right out of a running car. It would start right now sitting on our trailer, but for one minor detail. The two brittle oil lines to the filter fell apart. Now on my Ford flatheads with the bypass filter I'd just put in two little pipe plugs in the block and fire her up. But I need to make sure on this engine. It's completely original, so that is a bypass setup, correct? And would the pipe plugs, temporarily, be okay to get her going?

I read some old posts, but none really spelled it out clearly enough for me. Any advice appreciated, Thanks!!

    Pipe plugs are the way to go.  It is a bypass system.
