distributor information needed

Could someone tell me if a 1946-47 Hudson 8 distributor # 1GP 400813 will work in a 1941 Hudson 8 motor or are they different thanks.

    Your 46-7  8 cyl. AutoLite distributor, IGP 4008,  will work on an 8 cyl 1941 Hudson.This according to an AutoLite manual.

    Thanks Lance could you also tell me did the distributor have a vacuum advance unit on it and if it did were can I get one I can get a 46-47 rebuilt unit for $40.00 but it dose not have the cap rotor or advance unit with it that is why I am asking Tom.

    No vacuum advance on 8 dist. until 1948.

    Tom, there are no vacuum advances used on the eight cylinder distributors for either the 41 or the 46-7   Six cylinders yes, but not the eight.
