Need help with identifying block numbers

I am in the process of a body off frame complete restoration of a 47 comm and installing a 308 in place of the old 212. 

A machine shop did the nesc work on the engine but I have never been told what year the engine really is, the block is marked with #236591. What year is it out of, thanks

Take a look at the castings on the left side of the block. There are two sets of numbers on the left side. One is much smaller below the distributor. Take a look at this link once you have your numbers.  http://hudsonterraplane.com/tech/other/1929-56HudsonEngineIDCodes.pdf

Get out your national roster, and look for Robert Waid in California. I’m told that he has a car listed there with that serial number.
