PETE; The scanner is a good one, One of the 2 I have at home is the same one. I have never used the software. HP has about the best provided software of any of the scanner manufacturers. I would try it ( it comes with the scanner) befor you plop down any money on software. Also, the CDR is and OK one....not great, but it will do the trick...I assume you have an HP computer.
