Sommers Radiator Mascots
We had some discussion about radiator mascots for the '28s a few days
ago. Don Sommers has made up some of these in the past out of stainless
steel. He also did a chrome plated special that has the '28 mascot mounted to
a '29 faceted style cap. I have one of the later mascots and am very happy
with it. Bob mentioned that the repops had much of the lovely original detail
polished off, but having never seen an original I can't comment on that. The
Sommers repops are certainly good enough for touring and I would not hesitate
to order another one for the Roadster when the time comes should nothing
better be available. Of course if somebody wants to make some more accurate
ones, please add me to the list.
