Oil Pump Spring

All Super Six owners make sure you check the plunger return spring in your

oil pump. Last year, a friend, had just had all his worn rods replaced and

within five miles after leaving the workshop, he had run a bearing. After

removing the sump, he found very little oil in the number one trough. Upon

removal of the oil pump he found the spring in three pieces, he could not

believe he had not noticed the pressure drop on the gauge. This tapered

spring wears on the inside coils. If the spring has any wear, replace it.

We had a batch of springs made her from the members of our local club.

So take a few minutes and check your oil pump spring.
