Hudson Jet Axel Threads

John, it is not recommended to use a die unless it is split, so that you can install it on the thread and wind off. If you use a die-nut and it starts in the wrong place it can seriously under-cut the existing thread. The tool I have is like a nut-cracker which opens up, and fits over the axle thread. If you can't get one of these then a thread file is recommended. B.T.W. Jet axles are 20 t.p.i., which is quite a fine thread, not like a standard U.N.F. bolt. Good luck,
Geoff
