Hudson wheels and radial tires

I have a 1951 Hornet with 15" wheels that I believe are the stock wheels. They have hub cap clip holes but no clips. I want to run radial tires. Are the Hudson stock wheels compatible with modern day radial tires?" Performance and safety?

  • They work just fine and have been running radials for years. A 225/75R15 is like running a 7.60-15 or H-78 15. A 215/75R15 is close to a 7.10-15

My  C8 is using radials and its original wheels, tubeless!
  • I replaced my bias ply tires with Diamondback Auburns in 215/75R15 on my 1951 with original rims. I use tubes as a precaution against leaks. Everything about the ride is better! https://dbtires.com/

+1 but no tubes - great tires - very pricey

Ken, what do your Chrysler 15x7 rims look like?  Can you use Hudson hubcaps on them?  Any idea what Chrysler model & year they are from?
