Connecting Rod Numbers?
So my connecting rods from my 1937 212ci engine have a #38552 stamped on them. Thus if I’m looking for replacement rods, can I only use this number or are there other rods which maybe interchangeable?
Also, since I don’t have the knowledge to know if the pins maybe worn & need replacement I’d been thinking of doing this anyway just to tighten things up. If I do this is there only one pin to get or may there be other pins to use, such as was the case with valves & guides by updating them to the 1938 & later ones with narrower 11/32” stems? Any recommendations on separating the pistons & rods as well as re-assembly?
