'55 Hydromatic in '57 Hornet

Does anyone know if the '55 Hydramatic will work in a '57 Hornet, with AMC V8?

    Paul Schuster should be the man with the answer. I can't imagine the bell housing wound be the same, but I have zero first hand experience with 57's.

    He will probably need to know what engine the 55 Hydramatic was connected to as well.

    SAFAIK it won't fit. The 55 Hydro was used in the Hornet 6 and the wasp. The 57 Hudsons used the Jetaway hydro and there is no adapter/bell housing that will mate the two together. a good solution would be to measure up a later AMC Borg-Warner automatic and see if it will fit. I think AMC used them from 58 thru 70 when they went to Torqflites.
