According to parts book pressure caps were not used until 1950.

My 49 has a pressure cap of 7 lbs. maybe it has a 50 radiator I don't know for sure. 7 lbs seems high to me. Should I be concerned?
  • You need to confirm the year of the radiator as pressure caps can indeed put undue stress on earlier built radiators and internal cabin heater coils

    Let assume it's a 1950, is 7 lbs. ok?
  • 7 lbs is fine for radiators from the 1950s. Any more than that, might tend to damage the radiator, just because the tank is so large.

    Thanks for the info.
