I suspect you will have to have them relined.  That is what happened with my 1922.  but be careful of the hardness of the lining.  The lining they used on the 22 is to hard and I only get one chance to stop.  After that the lining is to hot and will not grip.  Time to get softer linings or go to back to asbestos (ok, not really, but it worked).  This is common with band style brakes as on my 22.  You may not have quite the issue.  Just something to think about.

I will be interested to hear what folks say as I have a 28 that will need to be relined at some point soon.

    Thanks for the information
  • Then & Now Automotive in Weymouth MA.  Probably has them or will refine your old ones.
They have a web site. They did my 29 and 33 shoes.

Second the Then and Now recommendation!  Good folks who support the old car community well.
