1940 hudson overdrive trans

thinking of selling my very hard to find overdrive trans, came out of a running driving 1940 hudson model 45 with 73000 miles. unit in great condition with clean fluid. previous owner did his maintenance.included are cables ,brackets and supports along with solenoid. part # 160878 which is listed in the hudson interchange book as "vent -trans cover-use with overdrive is present on unit. thanks

  • Dang! Sure would have liked to have that 2 years back. Dr Doug fitted my 39 with a single lever O/D (1950 I believe) and had to make modifications to my drive shaft and frame. The one you have would have bolted right in. I would guess you have no trouble selling it. Asking price?

    i also have the correct shorter drive shaft.

    Not quite, still would need to shorten the driveshaft.


    Yeah Sorry, for clarity I meant the bellhousing would bolt up. Or at least I have been told.
