What (if anything) is the significance of the block letters POWER DOME on the (cast iron) head of my '38 Terraplane?
Is this an indicator of a certain compression ratio, horsepower output level or just standard fare on a 212?

    Standard design used through 1947 for the 6cyl. and 1952 for the 8 cyl.

    Power dome was Hudson corny way of trying to say their cylinder head was of superior design to others. In fact, it was just an indentation in the top of the head to give a bit of swirl to the mixture as it compressed. supposedly to give better combustion. First developed in the 1929 Essex. High compression heads were "super Power dome".
