    Sorry Ken I didn't notice that. You are correct. Thanks for the info. My friend said he cuts a thermostat gasket without cutting the small rectangular hole in the gasket. Would I still have to use frost plug and drill hole in same. Ray from the great white north

    Can I use a modern thermostat without using the frost plug by using a gasket with NO rectangular hole cut in the gasket. Ray
