Temp sender number

My parts list shows a Echlin ECH TS6464 for a temp sender.
NAPA has it but calls it a 'Fan Switch'
What's with that?

    Looks like they have it catagorized wrong.  The specifications appear to match a temp sending unit rather than an on/off switch.

    I had to replace the temp sender on my 51 262. ECH TS6464 fits and works fine.

    Maybe this part was used to toggle on a fan at certain temperature ranges, thus being a "fan switch?"
