Hudson pickup in the top 10 collectible Trucks

Comments

  • Happy to see the 1940s Diamond T pick up is not listed. Might make it a bit easier for me to get.
Still the 40s Hudson pickup is up there as a close second for me.
  • Article incorrectly states they only produced for 2 model years.

    They are unique and cool.
  • i just saw this hudson pickup with a 308 twin h engine!

on a re-run of "caffeine and octane" - pretty cool!

  • Wow, that truck has all the bells and whistles.  What are those 3 bottles at the top center of the firewall?  Looks like and expansion tank for the coolant?!  And the red stuff could be tranny fluid, but what is the center bottle and why is it there??
  • Those 3 bottles were originally a "battery tender" and held electrolyte (sulfuric acid) for the batteries of the time. On the other end of the rubber hoses were rubber stoppers that plugged directly into the battery vents. Considering the risk of spraying all of that acid in a nice engine bay, it is a crazy thing to do this day and age. I suppose it worked reasonable well because they are not all that uncommon. I, too, am very interested in what function they serve now.
  • Hopefully they are decoration now.
