What’s it called?

The windshield wiper part that that goes thru the firewall is that called the transmission?? Or is it the part that goes to the center of the car . Thanks John

    Yes, it's known as the transmission.  I've heard of it being called the "tower".

    My thoughts since I was buying some at the last International meet.  Lew Bird called the "Tower" the part that sits on the outside of the car that the wiper blade attaches too.  The "Transmission" the part that bolts onto the tower and extends through the firewall.  "The cable Assembly" the cables that go from the tower to the wiper motor.  and The " Ansco Wiper Motor" is the vaccum motor that mounts to the dash and provides the action that operates the system.  By the way, it is a simple process to disassemble them to restore/chrome plate the tower.
