Radio Delete installation issues

Do you have issues with faulty clips that allow the delete plate to move around every time you hit a bump in the road? In my 53 to solve this issue I decided I had only two options available, plug the hole or find a better method to attach the plate.  I decide to find a better solution to the attachment.

The 53 has recessed radio knobs which required that I find a way to keep the plate centered to minimize movement and provide good alignment with the surface of the dash.  I fabricated two hard rubber spacers to fit between the plate and the bottom of the recessed holes in the dash.   (I trimmed two water faucet washers, Crest 3/8” to fill the voids)

Using blue painters tape I temporally fastened the delete plate with the spacers to the dash.  Now with the dash turned over I proceeded to install a flat washer over each peg and using a drop of epoxy to fasten the plate in place. I now have a well centered rattle free radio delete plate.
