Bob Rosol, long-time HET member and friend, runs an upholstery shop in Summit, NJ.  He recently reupholstered a fellow's '50 DeSoto using a vintage-looking (but new) medium brown material, and he has about 10-15 yards (of 54" material) left over.  He'd sell it at his price, $25 per yard, including shipping.  He's lost the manufacturer's name and fabric number, but will be happy to mail a small swatch to anyone who wants it.  He describes it as "plain" with no pattern, somewhat thick, and medium brown.  Maybe like a velour.  Or a mohair.  This sounds like it would be a nice material for a '30's or '40's Hudson or Essex, especially if you're willing to use something that's not an exact match.  And because it's NOT wool, you won't have to fill your car with mothballs.  Phone Bob's Top & Glass and ask for Bob, (908) 273-2370.  (NOTE: I am down in Virginia so can't answer any of your questions!)
