Dashboards

Ok... I have a 51 Hornet that originally had a leather grained dash.  I know they also wood grained as well that year, but here is my issue.  I'm making a plan for the body work and I don't like the look of either... I know it's sacrilege and all but how many have painted their dashes a solid color?  Any pictures out there?  Thoughts?

on my '52 I installed black top grain leather and painted the metal part black to match car.  Fabulous outcome.  Black hard top with light grey Scottish leather.

The first year with the vinyl dash top was 1951
  • Yup faux leather vinyl on the top of the dash... painted metal on the face of the dash.
