Pictures on one drive.  Just took them today. This is the Hudson factory built 48 PU. Engine has been changed over the years. No engine number, just casting numbers.
Now owned by Sonny Glassbrenner in Dade City, Fl.

Thanks for the pictures of the 48 pick up.  Saw this truck
 several times when it lived in S.E. Michigan.  Engine casting number shows that it is a "wide" block 262,cast at Lakey Foundry and Machine, of Muskegon Mich,   in 1953.  Notice the foundry logo, Lakey also
cast cyl. heads ,bell housings and single lever trans. cases for Hudson during the late 1940's and early 1950's

2 Gas tanks?

Yes, two gas tanks. Story is that Hudson execs ran out of gas while on a hunting trip and upon returning, had another tank installed.

One thing i remember him saying is that the quarters were convertable quarters and not coupe.
What is the difference?

Kerry,  Parts book refers to quarter panels as rear fenders.  Coupe, Convert. and Hollywood are the same.

Well, there is a 49 out there.  Same one or different.  Registered with Ernie Klingenberg

BTW, the 48 was registered with James Johnson.  Same one or another one?

It is actually a 48, serial number is a 49 number. Dont know the story behind that info.
