35 Terraplane windshield drains???

Hello All,
Are the two tubes brazed to the outer edges of the windshield frame intended to be drains? If yes, should there be tubing running to outside the car body? I can see on the passenger side were a tube could pass thru the body were the vacuum line for the wipers and the drain line for the cowl vent are but I don't see a place on the drivers side for a tube to pass thru.
