Proper 46-47 Shocks

I was wondering if anyone knows the proper shocks or part numbers to put on a '46-'47 Car. Is seems the ones I have do not allow the leaf springs to bottom out as far as they should and the travel is probably too short. I imagine the right ones are pretty long to go from the rear crossmember to the leaf springs without stressing the pegs they mount on.
The leaf springs on the car look virtually flat..can that be right ? shouldn't there be a good arch to them ?
