Jet Liner Carb

I am struggling to source a Carter WA-1 for my 1954 Hudson Jet Liner - 202cu.in, straight six, manual transmission.  Has anyone come across an alternative that can be used successfully?

Checking the internet, I read that the late 1953 and all 1954 models with normal carb (not Twin H-Power) used Carter WA-1 2009SA.  Earlier used WA-1 2009S, which might interchange.  (I'm no expert so I hope someone will jump in here).

Check Ebay from time to time.  And if you haven't done so already, get the names of some of the "regular" Hudson vendors who advertise in the WTN, and shoot them an e-mail asking if they've got one of these carbs kicking around their shop.  Only a portion of people with Hudson parts regularly follow this forum.

  • I'll have one that needs rebuilt...... $40
I also have one freshly rebuilt for driving quality and one for show quality.
