Hello,

I'm glad to find this forum. I've long been a fan of the post-war Hudsons and, after several years of trying to locate the right one (early 50s, in good but not fully restored condition, etc.) I finally acquired a 1950 Hudson Commodore which is in great driving condition. It also needs just the right amount of love which is tremendous fun.

I look forward to having a place to learn more about the Commodore as I work through the punchlist of things needing to be done.

Welcome.  You'll find lots of info on the "step-downs" (what we Hudnuts usually call the 48-54 Hudsons) here, and lots of helpful people.  Please post pics of your baby when you can!

Where are you located?  There are Hudson enthusiasts and Club chapters all across the U.S. and around the world -- maybe in your vicinity too.  It's spring, and there will soon be a number of Hudson gatherings taking place, maybe one's taking place near you!  You're always welcome, and you'll certainly find people there who can be of assistance to you.

Hello Kschultz, welcome to our happy club of Hudson lovers and owners. Not a "bathtub" car owner my self as I prefer the pre war cars but you will find a many of people here willing to help and give advice. As Jon B said consider joining our club.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes. 

Attached is a picture of the Commodore. A friend and I like to find cars we love of that vintage that are in good, but not great shape, and the Hudson is one I've long loved. This one went through a restoration 15 years ago and we are fixing things that need attention w/o trying to turn her into a Concours car.

I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, just north of SF, so if anyone knows of clubs or enthusiasts in this area, I'd love to hear about them.

I will definitely look into joining the HET club.

I'll also do a separate post about sourcing some of the parts we are trying to locate. This is my first Hudson so finding good sources for parts is key. I'm hopeful this forum will be a great resource.

The Northern California Chapter would be the one in your area.  Joining a local chapter is optional to joining the National, but it has the benefit of supplying you with more local Hudson activities. 

Why not contact the newsletter editor, Jeanene Denegri, at XXXJeanened09@gmail.com, to ask when and where the next meet is scheduled (please remove the XXX before sending)?

I can't speak for other chapters, but I know that ours is always happy to welcome new Hudsonites to our meets (of course we hope they'll eventually join, but the main thing is to meet them and introduce them to other Hudson owners in the area).
