I have read a bunch of the posts regarding part # interchange to redo all the brakes on the 48.  My question is: How do I know which brakes I have and what bore size I need to get for new wheel cylinders?

for ex I see these (some marked for "stepdowns" and others just for the year?

well thanks to the internet - and moreso those who have generously posted manuals online - I found the info.  Looks like 8 cyl needs the 1 1/8 version so i will be ordering those.  Looking like 200$ to rebuild all 4 corners inc liners, cylinders, springs and hoses.  Not too bad at all!

While you are at it may I suggest replacing master cylinder and brake lines as well.

    FYI
If your car sits long periods and your replacing the whole brake system, I would use Silicone Fluid going forward....
