Once you break it apart it will be pretty obvious. The bushings etc are standard sizes. That said, an older local starter shop rebuilt mine for $45. I saved them some time by dropping one off that was cosmetically restored.
  • thanks, will give it a try
  • I am new to Hudsons, who makes the starter?

If Delco-Remy, give Weitzels DC Electric of Norwalk, Ohio a call, 1-419-668-2844. Wayne was able to send me all of the parts (brushes/fields/lead wires) to convert a 1949 6 volt Delco starter to 12 volt for our Oliver farm tractor. He was very helpful, and his prices were competitive.

For harder to find Delco parts, try Neil from Obsolete Delco Parts 1-513-731-4134.

    Good luck,
    Chris

     All Hudson starters are Auto-Lite.
  • I think it is the solinoid, brushes and everything else looked good. who sells them.
  • I have a good number of OEM Auto Lite parts for your starter.
  • The only mark on the solenoid is a H, but the starter is a MAB4074. thanks
