Ken, compared to Wellwood Contact Cement is the 3M Super Black better? I always used WCC, but once opened it dries up and is rendered useless.

Well, you didn't ask me, but I use both all of the time.  The benefit of the 3M over WCC in this particular case is that the 3M is black and makes for a much cleaner installation.  The bonding strength for each in this application is comparable to each other.

    thanks Russ
  • How about some double sided sticky tape. surely there is some out there that would hold weather strips rubber. no matter what tube glue is used , it is allways a mess.
  • Thanks Ken, I will give it a try..

I'm not fond of the tape adhesive.  It stays too soft and can move around with heat and especially pressure.  It will "slag off" or move to the path of least resistance with pressure on it.
