Clutch flush: alternatives to C-tet?

I hope you'll pardon the self-reply, but I just noticed this in the Tech Bulletin Clutch Flushing thread, from Frank:
"I have found that 3-M Brake Parts Cleaner and likely many other
similar products, do a good job of removing the shellac-like glaze on
the inserts with the disc "on the bench"."
Have others used this product? Advice?

Thanks, guys. Using any of these products, is it advisable to stick with the 1/3-pint recommendation in the Shop Manual?
